"Y221" Mechanical Packer
I. Summary
This packer is provided with positive setting and unsetting, and convenient operation. Upon operation, lower the tubing while rotating the tubing, and the track pins will slip into the elongated slot from the short one. Consequently relative movement occurs between slips and wedge surface of the cone, and opened slips will couple with the casing entire tightly to accomplish anchoring. At the same time, part of set-down weight causes the rubber tube in compression axially and in tension radially, thus accomplishes sealing the annulus space between the tubing and the casing. To unset, pick up the tubing.
This packer associated with supporting equipments can realize separated well testing, oil recovery, water detection, water plugging, oil pumping by intensifier pump, fracturing etc, especially for engineering that is inadvisable to rotate the tubing.
